A basement without natural light can be both fun and challenging. Here, we had to create a restaurant which felt sunny with a sizeable invitation at street level.
Internally, we wanted to create a lighting intervention that was simple and welcoming, allowing the architecturally interesting vaulted ceiling and white brick walls to be the highlight of the space.
In addition to washing the vaulted ceiling with light to provide a weightless, ethereal effect, we added colour and contrast throughout the design to create vibrancy.
