Tate Modern Opening

The theme of the lighting show was ‘old giving life to the new’ in an event that symbolised the rebirth of Bankside Power Station as the new Tate Modern.

Concentrating on the buildings imposing structural mass and distinctive geometry, the sunset lighting show saw lasers tracing the building’s form, animating the facade with waves of deep layered light, projecting shapes and patterns from the architectural features across the river Thames. The display reflected the iconic building in its new role as one of the world’s leading institutions now welcoming over six million visitors each year.
